Description:

Here is an Archival print of Narcissi and Tulips by Henri Fantin-Latour (1836-1904) a great French painter. He is a portrait painter and was also celebrated for his still life flowers in the late 18th century   He is also known for group compositions of contemporary French celebrities in the arts.

Fantin Latour’s  father was a well-known portrait painter who naturally became his  first teacher. Fantin-Latour was born in a city called Grenoble in France. Later he moved to Paris with his family in 1841 and studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts briefly in 1854. Later in 1861 he also studied in the Louvre, making copies of old master paintings, and worked in the studio of Gustave Courbet (1819 - 1877). In late 1800s lithograph printing was in a boom throughout Europe. Ravi Varma and other Indian artists used to get their arts printed in Germany before they started lithograph presses in India. Henri Fantin Latour  excelled in the field of lithography and other print makings.

In 1875 he married a fellow painter Victoria Dubourg, after which he spent his summers on the country estate of his wife's family Buré in Lower Normandy and he died on 25 August 1904.

What Is a Archival Print :

When it comes to fine art printing, several technical factors differentiate each technique and medium. Museum-quality prints use refined pigment particles to create captivating, finished artwork. It is also known as archival or Giclee prints, museum-quality images are subjects that undergo a sophisticated printing method using an inkjet printer. These illustrations use color-matching techniques and utilize high-quality archival ink and materials that a gallery or museum would approve. It’s worth noting that owning museum-quality prints is relatively close to owning original artwork.
