About S. S. Brijbasi & Sons;

          The Brijbasi Brothers, Srinathdasji and Shyamsundarlalji, founded a well-known printing company during the pre-independence era in India, specializing in religious and political chromolithographic prints. Originally based in Karachi (now in Pakistan), they initially operated as a photo-framing business. However, they later shifted their focus to selling prints of artworks created by renowned Nathdwara artists like Narottam Narayan, Ghasiram Hardev Sharma, and Khubiram Gopilal. The company gained popularity by promoting the unique fusion visual style of Nathdwara paintings and also by offering prints inspired by prominent leaders of the Indian independence movement. After the partition of the subcontinent in 1947, the company expanded its presence by establishing branches in Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1950 and Delhi in 1954.

What is Oleography?:
The Greek word litho means 'stone' and graphein means 'to write' so Lithography can be defined as 'stone printing'. The printing plate originally used were porous stones. The priting portion of the stone plate was treated to absorb ink and the nonprinting area was treated to repel ink. Depending on the number of colours present, an oleograph could take months to produce by very skilled workers.
