Raja Ravi Varma made lithograph prints of his artworks affordable and easily available. This way he brought his fine arts to the masses. So most of his paintings, in the form of lithograph prints, reached millions of Indian households in 1930-50s. So the advertising industry started using the Indian Gods and Goddesses as the brand ambassadors for encouraging Indian consumerism atleast until the 1960s’.

Popular companies from both Indian and London companies like sunlight soap company, Chika Ltd, Bombay, The British Alizarine co. ltd. a London Travel company, Ltd. etc are good examples of such posters Which are still high in demand as they have become antique after 100 years.
