Here is a Archival print  of Helena Fourment’s painting by an European artist Jan Boeckhorst. He was as a German born Flemish Boroque painter. This particular painting of Helena Fourment was one of Jan Boeckhorst’s portraits who was the student of Peter Paul Rubens, the great Baroque painters in Antwerp. Helena Fourment  was the second wife of Peter Paul Rubens. This could be the connection between the artist and his subject. 

               Helena Fourment was said to be very beautiful, amongst others by very influential people of her time. The Cardinal-Infante Ferdinand, the then Governor of the Netherlands said, “She was undoubtedly the most beautiful one may see here!”. Also Gaspar Gevartius, a poet from Antwerp who was also a Jurisconsult of Antwerp has said "Helen of Antwerp, who far surpasses Helen of Troy". He was also a personal friend of Peter Paul Rubens.

                Jan Boeckhorst was a painter and a draughtsman. He was a versatile artist and has produced many historical paintings, genre scenes and portraits in a style influenced by the three of leading Baroque painters in Antwerp Peter Paul Rubens, Authonty Van Duck and Jacob Jordens.
