Here we have a limited edition print of Ganesha from the Air India collection of contemporary Indian art. This is originally an oil on canvas from the art collection of Air India and this print is one of their limited edition prints of Ganesha, the Hindu God of wisdom and remover of obstacles, with his vehicle mouse. This beautiful art is a work of a 20th century artist G. S. Adivrekar.

About the Artist:

Gopal Adivrekar was born in Phanasgaon, Maharashtra. To pursue his career in art, he moved to Mumbai and joined  Sir J. J. School of Art in Mumbai in 1963. He held a number of national and international solo and group exhibitions and was elected Honorary Secretary, Chairman and Vice President of The Bombay Art Society from 1987 – 2002. Since his death in September 2008, his work has featured posthumously in 'Masters of Maharashtra', collection from Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi at Piramal Gallery and the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai in 2010.
