Description:
Presented here are intricate architectural wooden brackets featuring Pathan celestial musicians called Vidyadharas, grasping musical instruments while adorned with crowns atop their heads.
Vidyadhara(s) meaning "wisdom-holders". They are a group of supernatural beings in Indian religions who possess magical powers. They are considered Upadevas or demi- gods. These brackets are a familiar sight within the traditional mansions or havelis across all regions of Gujarat. This specific form of wood carving serves as the hereditary craft of the Hindu Suthar community, a tradition upheld predominantly in the Patan and Ahmedabad districts.
